The Reality: How Many Teens Are Exposed to Pornography?
• 90% of boys and 60% of girls have been exposed to pornography before age 18, and the average first exposure happens between ages 11 and 13.
• Over 50% of teens admit to watching pornography intentionally at least once a month.
• Many young people encounter pornography accidentally through social media, pop-up ads, and even school-issued devices.
The Spiritual Dangers of Pornography
1. It Distorts God’s Good Design for Sex and Marriage
2. It Leads to Sinful Bondage
3. It Destroys True Intimacy and Relationships
Risks of pornography use
1. Increased Anxiety and Depression
Teens who frequently watch pornography report higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. It leads to dissatisfaction with real life, fostering loneliness and isolation.
2. Addiction and Escalation
Pornography works like a drug, leading to a need for more extreme content to achieve the same effect. This can pull young people into darker, more damaging material.
3. Desensitization to Sexual Sin
Young people who consume pornography are more likely to engage in premarital sex, practice unsafe sex, and struggle with impulse control. Instead of honoring God with their bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18-20), they are drawn deeper into sin.

Filling the Heart with something better
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
